RUClear is a confidential service where you can feel safe taking a test, getting a result and talking to us.
What is Confidentiality?
Confidentiality means not telling anyone else about anything you have said to us or about the information we have about you. There may be occasions when we need to share your information - for example if we get information that suggests that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm then we may have to discuss this with other services in order to protect you or the other person.
If you are under 16, you still have the same rights to confidentiality as anyone else and you will be treated no differently.
If you are under 13, we are likely to be more worried about you having sex but you still have the same right to confidentiality.
Your Confidentiality if You Are Positive
Confidentiality is no different if you test positive unless we are completely unable to contact you to inform you of your infection.
In some instances we may not be able to contact you due to incorrect contact details. It is important that you regularly inform us of any changes to your contact details, especially new mobile phone numbers. We always recommend if you have not received your results within 2 weeks of your test you contact the RUClear Office on 0800 046 1303.
The RUClear Policy is to try on 3 separate occasions a week apart to contact you. If we are unable to do this we will contact your registered GP so that they are able to treat you when you next visit them.
We collect information about which pages of our website are visited and how users have come to the site. None of the information we collate from our website enables us to identify individual users.
